DERBY PARKS

Alvaston Park

Alvaston Park is situated in the South of the city, about 2 miles from the city centre. It lies adjacent to the River Derwent and from here you can walk or cycle along the riverside path, North West to the city centre or South East to Elvaston Country Park. There is also a recreational route along the former Derby Canal, which leads to the River Trent at Swarkestone.

The park has a recreational area where football is played, a children’s playground, which contains a range of play equipment, a BMX track and a lake. A tree trail consisting of both native and exotic species can be followed around the park. It comprises both newly planted and established trees.
