Analysing the property market is fascinating. There are so many different facets that complications are inevitable. Add to this the variations in public opinion and ludicrous media statements and it’s no wonder that confusion reigns.
Many of our competitors are advertising that they are selling houses like hot cakes and I wish them well in their bakery. These adverts are trying to encourage the selling public to put their houses on the market with their particular company. Remember a high market share of a particular company is only good for the seller, provided that the company systems can cope with that volume. Is the market improving? The answer is undoubtedly yes. However, a full recovery is not yet in sight and we will experience a continuing improvement for several months. For those of you who have a property on the market currently it is easy to become disillusioned if your house hasn’t sold this month despite the apparent improvements in the market. For these people I would repeat ‘Patience is a virtue’. There are no magic wands. Just good honest Estate Agency work, that if you have the right company, will go on day after day until the buyer is found. We expect the market to quieten down towards Christmas for obvious reasons, however the New Year will be very bright and we believe that this improvement will continue throughout the year. Whatever happens next year, choose your Agent with care. Your home is your most valuable asset, not the sort of thing you sell on EBay or indeed at a Bakers Shop.
